Take one deep breath.

Hold.

Then let it out slowly.

Release the rope you are holding.

Let go of that throat you are closing.

Put your hands back to your sides.

Calm yourself and say,

“No. I won’t kill tonight.”

Those nights; Sleepless nights

Those nights of dead silence.

Those nights of terrifying calmness.

Those nights when all your fears,

Are waiting for you to fall.

Those nights of the past.

Those nights of sudden pain.

Those nights when the only question that matters;

Is the question of Why.

Those nights.
